Countries have locked down entire populations without thinking of even the most obvious, simple basic consequences, like how is the next generation, now locked in their homes in the U.K. and other countries for instance, going to learn the skills necessary to take the reins of the global economy?
How are people going to fall in love and get married and have children if they have to wear masks all the time and never see a human face?
How are people going to excel at being human like this? To become truly great at something? Art, dancing, engineering, medicine, business, anything, while being locked up like rats?

What changes is the support behind that business. Wilson says Splash Tech is moving from the resources of a 20-person company to those of a group of around 300, adding depth across licensing, compliance, finance, technology, product and business intelligence. In his characteristically understated phrasing, each area has had “rocket fuel injected into it”.
RubyPlay’s broader licensing footprint and distribution also give Splash Tech access to operators and markets it could not have pursued efficiently alone.
“Because you’re a small business, you need to pick your battles,” Wilson says. “I can’t go and get 10 licences this year. It’s just unrealistic. It would require so much work that it would distract us. Now we have that ability through our relationship with RubyPlay, and we are grabbing that opportunity with both hands.”

I would be lying if I said it’s going to be easy to accept this transition and to refocus my efforts elsewhere. However, I am eternally grateful for having been given this excellent opportunity and have enjoyed every aspect of being involved in the Calvin Ayre organization. What is coming next may still not be defined, but that’s what is going to make the next chapter exciting; it can bring essentially anything and everything.
